  • about

Healing is a process, and residing in each of us is a drive to flourish and seek health. My mission is to help you feel understood and more connected to yourself and to others as you gain awareness of how your mind, emotions, and body are linked.

    The therapeutic process

Psychotherapy is a personalized treatment that combines theory with evidence-based interventions to help you create meaningful change. With time, dedication and investment in the process you can make improvements to reach the outcomes you desire. As an experiential clinician, I will collaborate with you in the present moment. Each session will be an invitation for you to share what is most present with you and I will engage with whatever content you bring, keeping in mind your treatment goals. Sessions are generally held weekly, either in-person in midtown Manhattan or virtually throughout New York and New Jersey via secure video platform.

    Insurance

I am an in-network provider with Aetna for sessions held in New York. I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance plans and for sessions in New Jersey. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits for mental health treatment, some of your expenses may be covered. I would be glad to assist you with initial questions for your insurance company to investigate coverage details. Upon request, I will provide a monthly record of payment that can be submitted for reimbursement.

    Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and/or depression are experienced by many of us at some points along our life journey. We may first notice physiological symptoms, behavior changes, thought patterns or mood shifts - perhaps a combination of all of these. Therapy can be a great place to begin exploring where anxiety and/or depression are interfering most in your life. There is hope to find relief from these symptoms and to explore deeper feelings to ultimately experience healing at the core.

    Relationships

Patterns interfering in present relationships are often rooted in the past. While coping strategies were developed for good reason, our prior adaptive solutions can often become today's problems. The therapeutic setting can be a safe space to gain insight into these patterns and to say goodbye to what is interfering in relationships today. It is a judgment-free place to begin practicing new forms of connecting both to ourselves and to others to improve relationships, or to risk forming new fulfilling relationships. No one is meant to journey through life alone.

    Attachment Trauma

Early childhood experiences are powerful. Together we can explore what feelings were expressed in your family of origin and what happened when early sources of comfort or distress were present or absent. Therapy is a setting to discover and experience healing where meaning assigned to childhood experiences is still affecting you most today.
